The ANZAC Discovery Trail is located in Toowong Memorial Park and leads up to the Cenotaph. The concrete pathway winds its way up the hill flanked by beautiful sandstone blocks.
With co-operation from the Brisbane City Council and the State Government, Toowong RSL Sub-Branch commissioned three ‘Interpretive Panels’ and installed in June 2020 which are located along the first section of the trail. The panels commemorate Australian and New Zealand forces involvement in Gallipoli, The Western Front and Beersheba in World War One. Each panel contains a QR code so that information on the campaigns and battle can be gained by the use of a smart-phone or tablet.
Australia’s involvement in the major campaigns and battles since World War One will be commemorated on panels to be installed in the near future.
